Political pressure on oil companies has not disappeared in Norway, and will hopefully be better regulated in Suriname. Society in Norway has higher demands for climate and transparency, yet the recent discussion of strategy at Equinor shows that state ownership runs through clear governance and that commercial considerations remain under public scrutiny without challenging the investment climate.
