On shore and at sea, learning to link policy to the realities on deck, with training courses that teach teams to think from the perspective of fishermen so that sustainable management measures are not only right on paper but also supported by those who work with them every day, increasing the likelihood of compliance and preventing conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In healthcare, there is a sober assessment of the National Institutes of Health that has been too under-resourced for too long, with the prospect of greater autonomy so that specialist knowledge can be drawn outside of tight pay lines, and with broader identification of weaknesses so that improvement is not piecemeal but coordinated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond its borders, there is a robust regional file in which neighboring countries are delineating their position on security and military presence in the Caribbean, while Suriname retains the space to independently weigh what security, diplomatic and economic interests demand before a position is established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
