In Texas, the devastating floods now account for more than 100 fatalities, state authorities report. The Texas Hill Country area, particularly Kerr County and the banks of the Guadalupe River, was most severely flooded. The victims include at least 28 minors.

This hydrological disaster occurred after exceptionally heavy precipitation caused water levels in the Guadalupe River to rise by more than six feet in a matter of hours. One of the hardest hit locations was Camp Mystic, a summer girls' camp facility, where several deaths and missing persons were recorded. Thanks to large-scale Search and Rescue (SAR) operations, dozens of people could still be brought to safety in time.

Coordinating emergency services are conducting search and recovery operations 24/7, while thousands of volunteers are providing logistical and humanitarian support to affected communities. At the same time, the government is receiving strong criticism for its crisis management and the failing alert system: many residents reported receiving no or late alert notifications.

With these events, Texas is writing another dark chapter in its natural disaster history: analysts are calling it one of the deadliest weather-related calamities in recent decades. The death toll is expected to rise further as SAR and recovery teams continue their work.

In Texas, devastating floods now account for more than 100 deaths, state authorities report.
